Liverpool vs Aston Villa: Predicted Lineup, Team News, And Latest Injury Updates For Premier League Showdown

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

Luis Diaz Eyes Starting Role as Liverpool Prepare for Aston Villa Clash.

After a sensational hat-trick performance against Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool’s Luis Diaz is pushing hard for a starting spot as Aston Villa visit Anfield on Saturday.

The Colombian forward, deployed centrally in the midweek clash, scored three times in the second half to seal a commanding 4-0 victory, dealing the German side only their second European defeat in over a year.

Despite a recent trend of coming off the bench in Liverpool’s Premier League wins over Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Brighton, Diaz’s midweek display has put him firmly on manager Arne Slot’s radar.

To accommodate Diaz in a central role, Darwin Nunez may either move back to the left flank or make way in the lineup.

In defense, Andy Robertson faces competition from Kostas Tsimikas for the left-back position.

However, the remainder of Slot’s lineup is expected to remain consistent, as Alisson Becker (thigh), Diogo Jota (stomach), Harvey Elliott (foot), and Federico Chiesa (fitness) are all unavailable until after the international break.

Jota is not anticipated to return until a few games after the break.

Liverpool Predicted XI:

Goalkeeper: Kelleher

Defense: Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

Midfield: Mac Allister, Gravenberch

Attack: Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz

Striker: Nunez

Diaz’s recent form adds a thrilling dimension to Liverpool’s attack, and fans are eager to see if he can maintain this momentum against Aston Villa.
