Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, addressed ongoing speculation surrounding a potential move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Speaking before Napoli’s 2-1 victory over Juventus on Saturday, Manna emphasized that the Serie A leaders would not exceed their financial limits to secure the Argentine’s services.
Garnacho has emerged as a key target for Napoli following the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.
Alongside Garnacho, Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has also been linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s squad as the club seeks to strengthen its attacking options.
According to reports from ESPN, Manchester United recently turned down an initial offer of approximately €50 million from Napoli for the 20-year-old winger.

When questioned about the progress of any potential deal during a DAZN interview, Manna stated:
“These are two names that interest us. They are players we like, but they are not the only ones. We are evaluating opportunities, but we will not pay prices beyond the market value.”
Manna further elaborated on the club’s approach, saying:
“The sale of Kvaratskhelia was necessary due to the player’s wishes and our dynamics.
However, we will stick to our financial parameters—not just regarding the transfer fee but also salary. While we are considering several options, we do not want to give our fans false hope. Our focus is on doing what’s best to improve the squad.”
Garnacho, who is under contract at Manchester United until 2028, is highly regarded by the club.
Sources suggest that United’s valuation of the player far exceeds Napoli’s initial inquiry, making a deal unlikely unless a significantly higher bid is presented.
Despite United’s interest in retaining Garnacho, financial challenges may force the club to entertain substantial offers.
The 20-year-old has been a standout performer this season, recording eight goals and five assists across 33 appearances in all competitions.
As the transfer window heats up, Napoli’s measured approach and Manchester United’s firm stance will play a crucial role in determining whether Garnacho makes the move to Serie A.
