Joshua vs. Dubois: Rivalry Reaches Boiling Point as Heavyweight Title Fight Looms

The stage is set for an explosive showdown as Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois face off in the highly-anticipated IBF heavyweight world title fight on Saturday, September 21.

The tension between the two boxing giants was palpable as they went head-to-head for the first time this week, their intense stare-down on the banks of the River Thames hinting at the ferocity to come.

Joshua, known for his formidable punching power, stood tall, his piercing gaze fixed on Dubois.

The younger challenger, however, was unfazed, his determination to prove a point burning brighter than ever.

For Dubois, this fight is more than just a title shot – it’s an opportunity to silence critics and redeem his reputation.

A Quest for Redemption

Dubois has been haunted by allegations of quitting during his 2020 defeat to Joe Joyce.

The criticism has fueled his desire to prove his resilience and mental toughness. Now, he’s out to make a statement by forcing Joshua to quit, a feat considered worse than a knockout for any boxer.

The stakes are high, and the rivalry has been simmering.

Earlier in the promotion, Joshua and Dubois had to be separated during a joint interview, highlighting the animosity between them.

I’ve got to make him quit, break him down, That’s my mindset going into this. Making him quit, breaking him,”Dubois confidently declared.

“I’m turning it round now at this stage of my career. I’ve come through my ups and downs, just turning it round.

“Enjoy the moment, let all the talking be done, let all the statements be made. I’m in a good place right now and I’m ready to fight.”

“I looked into his eyes, and I don’t know, I’m so used to it now. It’s part of the game,”

He’s adamant that Joshua’s team are underestimating him.

“Of course they are, he’s going to be in for the shock of his life.”

“Seize the moment. It will all become real. Enough of the thinking, enough of the talking.”

But he is happy enough to be perceived as the underdog.

“I still have that mindset, I’m still like that. Everyone wants to see the underdog come through and come out on top.”

“I’m the underdog and I love playing that role, make it another night to remember.”

Both fighters boast impressive knockout records, with Joshua’s 24-3 record featuring 21 KOs, while Dubois boasts 18 KOs in his 19-1 record.

This fight promises to be an all-out war, with the winner claiming the coveted IBF heavyweight title.

As the boxing world holds its breath, one thing is certain – only one man will emerge victorious.
