Dubois Sets Sights On Overtaking Joshua In Heavyweight Division

Daniel Dubois vow to overthrow Anthony Joshua

Daniel Dubois vows to dethrone Anthony Joshua in heavyweight showdown.

The 26-year-old has confidently declared that he will surpass Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight division, ahead of their highly-anticipated clash on September 21 at Wembley Stadium.

Dubois, the reigning IBF world champion, will defend his title for the first time against Joshua, who is seeking to become a three-time champion.

Despite being considered the underdog, Dubois is determined to capitalize on the opportunity and deal a significant blow to Joshua’s ambitions.

In a bold statement, the 26-year-old warned Joshua that it’s now his time to take center stage and steal the limelight.

Dubois said:

“I can’t wait it is all written in the stars for me and I have to hold on to my belt.”

“I want to put on a show that no-one will forget. I am just staying in my lane at the moment.

“I’m just sharpening up my tools, I need to hold on to my belt. On the night I’m just ready to fight and go to war.

“I just believe it is my time now, it is all on the line for me and it is time to shine.

“It is my time to steal the show and reign for a long time. I’m ready to fight on the night, and ready to hear that first bell.”

Dubois has developed a mean streak in recent weeks, with tensions between himself and Joshua having heated up.

The pair were separated by security during a behind-the-scenes face-off, with ‘DDD’ engaging in trash talk for one of the first times in his career.

He knows that a win could see him set up a mega-money clash with the winner of Oleksandr Usyk‘s rematch with Tyson Fury in 2025.

It is certainly a different version of Dubois that the boxing world is seeing, and talkSPORT pundit Spencer Oliver has given an insight into his rituals right now.

Daniel Dubois is a different animal. He is very quiet, he is within himself, he doesn’t really say too much,” Oliver told talkSPORT Drive.

“I’m going to give you an idea of how he walks into the gym, they have got the whole team in there, Don Charles is the trainer.

“Daniel walks in with the bag on his shoulder, won’t say a word, puts his bag down, fist bumps one or two people, whoever is there.

“He then sits on the chair and puts his hands out to get his hands wrapped, he’s not said anything yet.

“He doesn’t say anything this is the character of the guy, he says so little. And guess where the gym is?

“The gym is in Boreham Wood. It’s called the farm, so he trains on a farm in a big old farmhouse.

“It’s beautiful to see. But when you go out into the car park, this what Daniel Dubois does every day.

“What can you see? The Arches of Wembley. He is out there for about an hour a day, he just stands there and he stares at it. Honestly, it is insane.”
