Valencia Fans Protest Against Peter Lim Amid Crisis

Valencia fans anger

Tensions between Valencia CF fans and club owner Peter Lim have reached a boiling point, as thousands of supporters staged protests before and after the team’s recent 3-2 loss to Las Palmas in La Liga.

These demonstrations came amid reports of two fans being detained in Lim’s home country of Singapore.

Dani Cuesta and his wife were reportedly arrested nearly three weeks ago in Singapore after Cuesta was seen holding anti-Lim banners, intensifying the frustrations felt by the fan base.

Valencia supporters have long been unhappy with Lim’s management, and this latest development has only deepened their dissatisfaction.

The Singaporean businessman, who took over the club in 2014, has been criticized for his perceived detachment from Valencia’s affairs.

Many fans believe his absentee ownership has led to the club’s decline, both on and off the pitch.

Their grievances were made clear as thousands gathered outside Mestalla Stadium before the Las Palmas game, demanding change.

After the defeat, even more supporters returned to express their anger, with the club sitting at the bottom of La Liga—having won just one of their last ten matches.

On the field, Valencia’s night started promisingly when Pepelu converted a penalty in the 14th minute to give the home side an early lead.

However, their fortunes took a turn for the worse. Las Palmas equalized just before halftime through Alex Muñoz, and shortly after the break, Fábio Silva—on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers—put the visitors ahead.

Valencia’s struggles deepened after Pepelu was sent off in the 69th minute for an off-the-ball incident, leaving the team with ten men.

Las Palmas quickly capitalized, as Alberto Moleiro netted a third goal. Despite César Tárrega‘s late effort in stoppage time, Valencia was unable to salvage a point.

The defeat marked Las Palmas’ first victory of the season and their first in La Liga since February.

The win pushed them ahead of Valencia in the standings on goal difference, further compounding Valencia’s woes.

For Valencia fans, this match was just another chapter in their long-standing battle with Lim’s ownership.

Their calls for change are only growing louder, and with the club’s fortunes spiraling downward, it remains to be seen how long this tension can last before significant action is taken.

Lim’s future as owner appears increasingly uncertain, and the supporters’ relentless push for change shows no sign of fading.
