Jadon Sancho Told He’s Made a Huge Error Joining Chelsea

Jadon Sancho to Chelsea

Jadon Sancho’s struggles tenure at Manchester United has finally come to an end, with the 24-year-old joining Chelsea on an initial loan deal.

However, former Premier League defender Michael Dawson has warned Sancho that he may have made a mistake by joining the Blues.

Sancho’s efforts at Old Trafford were well-documented, with the England international falling out of favor under Erik ten Hag and failing to replicate his best form.

A loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last season offered a temporary reprieve, but Sancho was omitted from United’s squad for their opening two games of the current campaign.

Despite this, Dawson believes Sancho’s move to Chelsea may not be the solution to his problems.

With the Blues boasting an array of talented wingers, Sancho faces intense competition for a starting spot.

Dawson’s concerns raise questions about Sancho’s ability to revive his career at Stamford Bridge.

The loan deal, which includes an obligation for Chelsea to sign Sancho permanently for £20-25m next summer, may have offered a fresh start, but Dawson’s warnings suggest Sancho’s Chelsea move could be a gamble that doesn’t pay off.

Dawson said on Sky Sports:

‘It’s a surprising move for me when I look at the players already at Chelsea in that wide area.’

Jadon Sancho is a good player, let’s not forget that. He was a superstar at Borussia Dortmund, he went to United and it didn’t work out for him.

‘But to go to Chelsea, why will it be any different there? Where’s he going to play? I honestly thought he needed to go somewhere where he was going to play.

‘I think he’s the kind of player that wants to be playing week in, week out. He’s going to be in and out like you won’t believe at Chelsea.

‘Chelsea is an absolutely crazy place right now. You’re bringing in Sancho for [Raheem] Sterling. It blows my mind.

‘It hasn’t worked for him at United, it did at Dortmund. That seemed like home to him and he was playing his best football there.

‘The clubs he played for are unbelievable but he needs to play.’

Sancho could be presented to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge on Sunday before their Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace.
