Neymar Subbed Off With Injury Shortly After Return For Al Hilal In Champions League Match

Neymar fresh Injury

Neymar made a brief second appearance for Al Hilal as he continues his recovery from a year-long absence due to an ACL injury.

In an Asian Champions League match on Monday, the Brazilian star entered the game in the 58th minute, contributing to his team’s 3-0 win.

However, his time on the pitch was short-lived, as he was substituted just 30 minutes later after going down and clutching his right leg, appearing to strain it while stretching for the ball in the penalty area.

Aleksandar Mitrovic played a key role in Al Hilal’s victory, scoring a hat trick that propelled his team to the top of the Asian Champions League group standings.

Neymar, who joined Al Hilal in 2023 from Paris Saint-Germain, initially debuted for the club on October 21 but has seen limited action due to registration rules.

He will not be eligible to play in the Saudi Pro League until January.

Al Hilal has been cautious in Neymar’s return, mindful of his recent cruciate ligament surgery following an injury during Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay last year.

Despite Neymar’s progress, he was left off Brazil’s November World Cup qualifying squad, with coach Dorival citing the importance of allowing him to regain full fitness before returning to international play.

Brazil currently sits fourth in their World Cup qualifying group, trailing Argentina by four points after 10 games.

Neymar’s gradual recovery is expected to be key for both club and country as he works toward peak form.
