“It’s not an excuse that Rodri’s not there”_Pep Guardiola Vows To Rebuild Manchester City Amid Poor Run Of Form

Pep Guardiola vow yo Rebuild Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, emphasizing his desire to “rebuild” the team after recently signing a two-year contract extension.

Despite the Premier League champions enduring a six-match winless streak across all competitions, the Spaniard remains determined to restore his side’s dominance.

In their latest setback, Guardiola’s men squandered a three-goal advantage to draw 3-3 at home against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League.

This disappointing result has compounded their struggles, with City currently trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by eight points.

The gap could widen further if City fails to reverse their fortunes during a crucial clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Guardiola’s Defiant Stance

Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Guardiola delivered a passionate message about his determination to overcome the team’s challenges and return to winning ways.

Go to the principles. When you live it, accept it. Accept it and challenge it that is all I can do,” Guardiola said.

“No complaining, no blaming, no running from responsibilities.”

He acknowledged the pressures of managing at a top club like City, stating:

“I want it. Here as a football club, you have to win. If you don’t win, you are in trouble.

People ask, ‘Why is he not in trouble? Why is he not sacked?’ It’s because of what we’ve done in the last eight years.

That gives me margin, but it’s not normal for big clubs to sustain results like we have.”

The manager added that he would step aside if he ever felt he couldn’t bring positivity to the team:

“I want to stay, I want to do it. But the moment I feel I’m not positive, another [manager] will come. I want the opportunity.”

Plans to Rebuild and Regain Consistency

Guardiola, City’s most successful manager with 15 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League, is now focused on rebuilding the team for future success.

“I want to rebuild the team in many aspects from now until the end of the season.”

“I ask for this challenge, I ask for this opportunity. I know what we have to do. Right now, our consistency is not there.

“Which team in the world is consistent for ten years? It doesn’t exist—not in the NBA, not in tennis, not in golf, not in any sport.

It’s not pleasant to live through, but what do you expect? Everything to be easy and a red carpet laid out?”

A Need to Prove Himself

Guardiola also stressed the importance of finding solutions rather than making excuses.

“I have to prove myself now.”

“It’s not an excuse that Rodri’s not there. What do I do—cry all the time because Rodri’s not there? I have to find a solution. I’m trying every day.”

With Guardiola at the helm, City fans will hope his vision and determination can guide the team back to its winning ways as they navigate this challenging period.
