Barcelona’s poor run of form continued with a 1-0 defeat to Leganés. Pedri says the team must turn things around quickly to stay in the LaLiga title race.
Barcelona’s worrying slump in form continued on Sunday as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Leganés.
The loss, courtesy of Sergio González‘s fourth-minute goal, marked the fifth time in six league matches that Barça have failed to win.

Midfielder Pedri was candid in his assessment of the team’s performance, admitting that they started the game “half asleep” and lacked the spark needed to get the goal.
“It was a bad game, it’s impossible to be happy,” Pedri told reporters after the defeat.
“We have to be better in front of goal if we want to pick up points. We’re on a bad run in the league and we have to turn it around.”
The defeat has significant implications for Barcelona’s title hopes, with the Catalan side now level on points with Atlético Madrid and just one point clear of Real Madrid.
Both Madrid sides have a game in hand, adding to the pressure on Barça to turn their form around.
Assistant coach Marcus Sorg, who filled in for the suspended Hansi Flick, acknowledged that the team’s young players may have to get used to ups and downs this season.
“In LaLiga, it’s very hard and at the moment we struggle in the games,” Sorg said.
“Today, especially in the first 10 minutes, we haven’t focused like always, or sometimes [like we have] in the Champions League.”
Barcelona will hope to bounce back from this defeat when they host Atlético Madrid next weekend.
The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both sides level on points at the top of the table.
In injury news, Lamine Yamal hurt his ankle in the first half but played on until the latter stages of the second half. He will undergo tests on Monday to determine the extent of the damage.
