Arteta Extends Arsenal Stay With New Contract

Mikel Arteta sign new contract

Mikel Arteta has agreed to a new three-year contract with the club.

The 42-year-old manager’s previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season, sparking speculation about his future and potential moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, Arteta has now put an end to all the rumors and uncertainty by signing a new contract that will keep him at the helm of Arsenal until 2027.

In a recent interview with CNN, Arteta shared his philosophy on football and his approach to his career, saying,

“In football, it’s about what we’re going to do today and what you hopefully can do tomorrow.”

‘[In] this profession having this uncertainty is quite helpful. At least, it motivates me, keeps me on my toes, and it keeps me hungry to go again.

‘We have a great relationship with everybody at the football club.

I’m really happy where I am and things will take care of themselves.’

This mindset has clearly guided his decision to extend his stay at Arsenal, where he has been making significant strides.

Since taking the reins in December 2019, Mikel Arteta has been the driving force behind Arsenal’s resurgence as a Premier League powerhouse.

His tenure has been marked by significant milestones, including a triumphant FA Cup campaign in 2020.

However, Arteta’s most notable achievement has been elevating the Gunners to genuine title contenders, pushing Manchester City to the wire in recent seasons.

Back-to-back runner-up finishes have showed Arsenal’s growth under Arteta’s guidance, with last season’s thrilling title race culminating in a narrow two-point deficit to Pep Guardiola’s City.

As the Spaniard prepares his side for the highly anticipated north London derby against Tottenham this Sunday, the Emirates Stadium is abuzz with excitement and anticipation.
