Arsenal’s Declan Rice: ‘We Could Have Scored 10’ Against Tottenham

Arsenal Defeat Tottenham

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice lauded the attacking prowess of his teammates following their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in a heated North London derby.

Rice emphasized that the team could have easily scored more goals in what was a dominant performance at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners overcame an early setback in the entertaining clash, with all three goals scored in the first half.

After Tottenham took the lead, Arsenal turned the game around with a four-minute flurry that included an own goal by Dominic Solanke and a well-placed low drive from Leandro Trossard.

Despite their dominance, Arsenal missed several opportunities in the second half to extend their lead.

Speaking to TNT Sports post-match, Rice expressed his belief that the scoreline could have been far more emphatic. He also highlighted the personal and team motivation derived from facing their arch-rivals.

“We are unlucky we didn’t score 10, that’s the feeling.”

“We don’t need a message, playing Spurs. If you can’t get up for that, then you shouldn’t be playing football. We could have had another five or six, and that’s the disappointing thing.”

The midfielder also reflected on the significance of the derby, saying,

Tonight meant more than anything. From the first minute, the first 45 was pure domination. You can tell it was a derby.”

The win leaves Arsenal just four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.

For Tottenham, the season continues to unravel, as they sit in 13th place after recording their 11th Premier League defeat in just 21 games.
