Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed deep concerns following his team’s 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the Champions League.
The match marked their second consecutive major defeat, following a recent 4-0 loss to Barcelona in El Clásico.
On Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, Malick Thiaw gave Milan an early lead with a well-placed header.
Although Vinícius Júnior equalized with a penalty, Álvaro Morata struck back, putting Milan 2-1 ahead before halftime.

In the second half, Madrid fought hard for a comeback, only for Milan’s Tijani Reijnders to seal the win with a clinical counter-attack goal. With two losses in four Champions League games, Madrid’s situation in the league phase has become precarious.
“We should be worried because the team isn’t playing well,” Ancelotti admitted to Movistar.
“We need to be more solid, more compact. We’ve conceded a lot of goals.”
Real Madrid currently faces mounting challenges. In LaLiga, they are already nine points behind leaders Barcelona.
Ancelotti emphasized the need for improvement, stating,
“It isn’t about patience or impatience; it’s about what we see on the pitch. Right now, we’re missing something. Worry in these moments is natural. It’ll be a long night, but we all need to focus on improving.”
The coach highlighted Madrid’s defensive weaknesses, noting they’ve conceded nine goals in just three games.
He acknowledged that, while their attacking lineup—featuring Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior—creates numerous chances, the main issue lies in the ease with which opponents are breaking through their defense.
“Our main problem is how easily our opponents are creating opportunities against us,” Ancelotti said.
Despite speculation around team morale following Mbappé’s arrival, Ancelotti dismissed rumors of discord.
“The dressing room is healthy. There will be criticism, but we have to accept that we’re not doing well.
We’re aiming to improve, but we can’t continue like this if we want a successful season,” he said.
Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin echoed Ancelotti’s sentiments, expressing the urgency to bounce back.
“We understand we’re Madrid, and we’re expected to win. We need to analyze this well and recover quickly.”
Looking ahead, Madrid faces Osasuna in LaLiga on Saturday, followed by a Champions League fixture against Liverpool on November 27. Ancelotti and his team are under pressure to make swift adjustments to keep their season on track.
