Cristiano Ronaldo’s Son Prefers Kylian Mbappé Over His Legendary Father

Cristiano Ronaldo son prefer Kylian Mbappe to his dad

Cristiano Ronaldo may be considered the GOAT by millions of football fans worldwide, but within his own household, opinions differ—especially when it comes to his 5-year-old son, Mateo.

The Portugal superstar recently revealed that his young son prefers Real Madrid‘s kylian mbappé over him, despite Ronaldo’s extraordinary career and goal-scoring feats.

Ronaldo vs. Mbappé: A Friendly Household Debate

Fresh off scoring twice in Al Nassr’s latest Saudi Pro League victory, Ronaldo moved to the top of the league’s goal-scoring charts.

However, his impressive performance still wasn’t enough to sway Mateo’s admiration for the French World Cup winner.

In an upcoming interview with Spanish outlet La Sexta, Ronaldo shared a lighthearted anecdote about how his son views Mbappé as the superior player.

“Mateo really likes Mbappé,” Ronaldo admitted.

“Sometimes he tells me: ‘Hey Dad, Mbappé is better than you.’ And I reply by saying: ‘No, I am better than him—I have scored more goals.’”

Mbappé Following in Ronaldo’s Footsteps

Kylian Mbappé, who has openly idolized Ronaldo since childhood, is now carving his own legacy at Real Madrid. Following his high-profile summer transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the French forward has wasted no time making an impact at the Bernabéu.

After netting a hat trick against Real Valladolid on Saturday, Mbappé has now scored 15 LaLiga goals, placing him second in the Pichichi race, just behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski.

While Mbappé still has a long way to go to match Ronaldo’s club-record 450 goals for Los Blancos (2009-2018), his recent performances suggest he is well on his way to greatness.

What’s Next for Ronaldo and Mbappé?

Mbappé has a chance to extend his scoring streak when Real Madrid faces Brest on Wednesday, while Ronaldo will return to action on Thursday against Al Raed.

Regardless of how many goals Ronaldo continues to score, it seems his son Mateo remains firmly in the Mbappé fan club.

This wholesome moment between father and son shows that even the greatest footballers aren’t immune to family debates.

While Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the most accomplished players in history, his son’s admiration for Mbappé highlights the ever-evolving nature of football greatness.
