Alejandro Garnacho’s choice not to celebrate his stunning goal against Leicester City has caught fans’ attention, with speculation over his quiet reaction following Manchester United’s 3-0 victory on Sunday.
Garnacho’s teammate, Bruno Fernandes, explained that the young winger might feel he has lost support from some of the fan base.
Fernandes, who also scored in the match, addressed the situation in his post-game interview with BBC Sport.

“It was a good day at work,” he commented.
“We have many players with great qualities, but fans can sometimes be overly critical after a single game.
Garnacho scored a spectacular goal but chose not to celebrate fully, thinking he may have lost some fans’ faith.
I told him that people will always criticize, but many still appreciate and admire him.”
During the game, Garnacho came off the bench and secured United’s win with a breathtaking, curling shot from outside the box.
Though his teammates embraced him, the 20-year-old remained calm and reserved, later seen conversing with Fernandes before a brief, delayed celebration.
The subdued celebration may have roots in a recent incident, where Garnacho faced criticism from a supporter outside Old Trafford.
Ahead of United’s Europa League clash with PAOK, a fan advised the Argentine to “pass better” and “improve his first touch.”
A video capturing Garnacho’s cold response, “Why aren’t you playing, man?” quickly went viral on social media.
This season, Garnacho has already tallied seven goals and four assists, leading Manchester United in contributions.
Still, the club is facing challenges, having dismissed former manager Erik ten Hag.
