Lamine Yamal youngest best player

At just 17 years old, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has become the youngest recipient of the prestigious Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best under-21 player in men’s football.

This achievement caps off an extraordinary year for the rising star, who also finished eighth in the Ballon d’Or voting.

Yamal’s breakout year has been marked by impressive performances for both club and country.

He played a pivotal role in Spain’s European Championship victory last summer and has been instrumental in Barcelona’s success under Hansi Flick.

This is the third time in four years that a Barcelona player has claimed the Kopa Trophy, following in the footsteps of Pedri (2021) and Gavi (2022).

Yamal succeeds Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham as the most talented young player in the game.

A Humble Champion

Upon receiving the award, Yamal expressed gratitude to his family, teammates, coaches, and staff.

It is an honor to win this award,” he said. “I want to thank my mum, dad, and my grandma, who have always supported me.

Yamal’s sights are now set on the Ballon d’Or, with the youngest player to ever breach the top 10 eager to break Ronaldo’s record as the youngest winner.

“It would be fantastic to have a career like his,” Yamal acknowledged.

His standout performances earned him the Young Player of the Tournament, Goal of the Tournament, and a spot in the Team of the Tournament.

This season, Yamal has continued to impress, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 14 appearances.

A Bright Future Ahead

As Yamal continues to shine alongside Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha in Barcelona’s front three, the football world eagerly anticipates his next move.

With his sights set on the Ballon d’Or and a trajectory that shows no signs of slowing, Lamine Yamal is poised to become a legend in the making.
