Arsenal and England winger Bukayo Saka has returned to his club for treatment after suffering a suspected hamstring injury during England’s match against Greece at Wembley on Thursday night.
Saka, in outstanding form this season, was forced off midway through the second half, sparking concerns about his availability for Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures.
England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley confirmed the injury, stating, “He’s being assessed… In the build-up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.”
Sky Sports News reports Saka has left the England camp and will miss Sunday’s match against Finland.
Arsenal fans face an anxious wait to determine the injury’s severity, especially considering the club’s already rotten luck during international breaks this season.
Martin Odegaard suffered a significant ankle ligament injury during September’s break while playing for Norway, causing him to miss his side’s last seven games.
However, there is some positive news regarding Odegaard’s recovery.

The club captain was pictured back running on the treadmill at Arsenal’s training facilities this week, indicating progress in his rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Thomas Partey and Kai Havertz, who withdrew from Ghana and Germany’s squads respectively, are expected to be available for Arsenal’s trip to Bournemouth next week.
Partey was scheduled to feature in Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations double header against Sudan, while Havertz was set to play in Germany’s matches against Bosnia Herzegovina and Netherlands.
In other England news, Curtis Jones has withdrawn from the squad, while Harry Kane and Jack Grealish have returned to training ahead of the trip to Finland, following their absence from Thursday’s humiliating defeat.
Arsenal resumes action against Bournemouth on October 19, and Mikel Arteta will hope Saka’s injury is minor.
The Gunners are currently a point off the top of the Premier League, and Saka’s contributions have been instrumental in their strong start to the season.
As the club awaits further assessment on Saka’s injury, fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that their key player will make a swift recovery.
