Tottenham Crush 10-Man Manchester United 3-0 At Old Trafford, Piling Pressure On Erik ten Hag

Fernandes first red card of his career vs Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur delivered a decisive blow to Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United with a commanding 3-0 victory over a 10-man Red Devils side at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke each found the back of the net, while Bruno Fernandes’s first red card for Manchester United added to the misery for the home fans, many of whom left before the final whistle.

The atmosphere at Old Trafford turned hostile as boos echoed at half-time, with Tottenham leading 1-0, a scoreline that could have been much worse for United.

Ange Postecoglou‘s team wasted no time, taking the lead in just 155 seconds, courtesy of a blistering run by Micky van de Ven, who set up Johnson for an easy finish.

Manchester United showed little in terms of a response, struggling to maintain possession and failing to create any meaningful chances,

with Tottenham squandering opportunities to extend their lead in the first half.

United’s situation worsened after Fernandes saw red for a high tackle on James Maddison, despite slipping before making contact with his opponent.

Spurs capitalized on their numerical advantage early in the second half, with Johnson assisting Kulusevski for a volley that doubled their lead.

The away supporters were jubilant, chanting about Ten Hag’s future, and they had more reason to celebrate when Solanke sealed the win by capitalizing on poor defending from a corner.

As Manchester United slipped to a disappointing 12th place in the Premier League, their fans made an early exit, leaving Old Trafford half-empty.

Meanwhile, Spurs moved up to eighth, riding high on their fourth consecutive win across all competitions.

With a Europa League clash against Porto looming for Manchester United, Ten Hag’s future appears increasingly precarious,

while Tottenham prepare for their next fixture against Ferencvaros in the Europa League, followed by a Premier League showdown with Brighton & Hove Albion.
