Premier League champions Manchester City will make the trip to Tottenham Hotspur for their highly anticipated fourth-round clash in the 2023/24 Carabao Cup.
Meanwhile, 10-time champions Liverpool will head to the south coast to face Brighton & Hove Albion in another mouth-watering tie.
The Reds began their title defence with an emphatic 5-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield in the third round.
Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo both netted braces, while Mohamed Salah added to the tally, as they capitalized on West Ham going down to 10 men.
In the next round, Jurgen Klopp‘s side will face Brighton at the Amex Stadium, just days before hosting the Seagulls in a crucial Premier League encounter at Anfield.
Over in North London, Man City manager Pep Guardiola is chasing his fifth Carabao Cup trophy after previous successes in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
His team narrowly edged past Watford in the third round and now face a tough trip to Tottenham.
The two teams last met in May’s Premier League fixture, where City claimed a 2-0 victory, effectively quashing Arsenal’s title hopes.
The upcoming cup tie will also mark their first EFL Cup meeting since the 2020-21 final, where Aymeric Laporte‘s late header secured a 1-0 win for City over a Spurs team then managed by Ryan Mason.
