Real Madrid Stumble: Ancelotti Calls for Urgent Improvement

Ancelotti against Madrid poor form

Real Madrid’s struggles continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Las Palmas, leaving them four points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti emphasized the need for swift improvement after the team’s second stalemate in three league games.

Las Palmas took an early lead through Alberto Moleiro‘s fifth-minute strike, but Vinícius Júnior equalized with a penalty in the second half.

Despite Kylian Mbappé‘s efforts, playing the full 90 minutes and taking nine shots, Real Madrid was unable to secure a win.

Mbappé’s goal drought extended to three games, raising concerns about the team’s attacking prowess.

Ancelotti’s call for improvement comes as Real Madrid searches for consistency, having drawn their opening game at Mallorca and now facing a crucial stretch in the leagues.

“It was a bad first half,” Ancelotti revealed in his post-match news conference.

“It was hard for us to find the goal. We had to hang on, suffer a bit.

“The team wasn’t balanced, we weren’t moving the ball quickly. It was hard for us to win the ball back.

Everything that happened [in the draw] against Mallorca. I didn’t see an improvement in the team.

We must find an improvement fast, and I think we’ll find it.”

“It’s been hard for us to find the solidity we had last year.”

“We can’t look for excuses, we have to improve fast, we have another game on Sunday.

“I have to be clearer in the strategy on the pitch, to give clarity to the players. It’s been harder for us than we thought…

These three games have shown me a lot of things that aren’t going well.”

“The play is slow, there isn’t much mobility, and without the ball it’s hard for us to be compact.”

“We’re leaving spaces between the lines. The problem is clear, we have to find the solution … When there’s a problem, the coach has to take the responsibility.”

Real Madrid aims to bounce back from a sluggish start, having garnered just 5 points in 3 games, as they welcome Betis to the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.
