Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr’s captain, sparked speculation about a possible return to the Champions League while participating in this season’s draw on Thursday.

The legendary forward, who has played for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, received an award for becoming the all-time top scorer in Champions League history with 140 goals.

During the ceremony in Monaco, UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin playfully teased Ronaldo about not currently playing in the competition.

However, the 38-year-old Portuguese superstar didn’t dismiss the possibility of returning to the Champions League in the future, leaving the door open for a potential comeback.

Ronaldo said:

“I play Asian [Champions] League, don’t forget that.”

“For me it is a pleasure to be here. Thank you for this amazing award it means a lot to me.”

“As you know, Champions League it’s the highest in football.

I had an opportunity, not only you know the record speaks for itself, but I don’t mean that, I mean the pleasure to play that competition… it’s our motivation.

“Football… you never know what’s going to happen, let’s see what the future brings.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is the all-time leading scorer in Champions League history, with an unprecedented 140 goals.

He has consistently dominated the competition, winning five titles with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo’s impressive record includes 17 hat-tricks, 73 goals in the knockout stages, and 8 finals appearances. He has been named the Champions League’s top scorer a record 7 times.
