Liverpool’s promising start to the season has been dealt a significant blow with the news that Harvey Elliott will miss several crucial matches due to a fractured foot.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury while training with the England U21s last week and is expected to be out until late October.
Elliott’s absence will be felt across multiple competitions, including Premier League clashes against Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

He will also miss Liverpool’s first two Champions League fixtures against AC Milan and Bologna, as well as the Carabao Cup third-round match against West Ham.
Manager Arne Slot will need to rely on summer signing Federico Chiesa to fill the void, with rotation expected to manage the congested fixture list.
Fortunately, Elliott is the only injury concern for Slot, with the rest of the squad fit and available for Saturday’s game against Forest.
Liverpool has won their first three games under Slot without conceding a goal, but Elliott’s absence will test the team’s depth and resolve in the coming weeks.
