Chelsea’s Cole Palmer continued his remarkable rise to prominence with a record-equalling assist in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been on an upward trajectory since joining the Blues in 2023, breaking Eden Hazard‘s record for most goals and assists in a single Premier League campaign in his debut season.
Palmer’s impressive form has carried over into the new season, with four assists in his first three matches, including a crucial pass that set up Nicolas Jackson‘s goal against Palace.

This achievement puts him in esteemed company, alongside Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, who previously held the record.
Former Premier League defender Curtis Davies praised Palmer’s contribution, saying, “Great breakaway from Chelsea… Palmer’s pass leaves Jackson with a simple tap-in.”
Despite Palmer’s efforts, Chelsea were unable to secure three points, with Eberechi Eze leveling the match in the second half.
The Blues will look to bounce back on September 14 when they face AFC Bournemouth, who recently staged a dramatic comeback against Everton.
